Aperitif
An aperitif is a drink meant to prime your palate or whet your appetite. As it is meant to be consumed prior to a meal, an aperitif is generally dry and relatively low in alcohol.
Common aperitifs include the following: Champagne or sparkling wine, Vermouth, Pastis, Ouzo, Gin, and dry Sherry, such as Fino or Amontillado.
Examples of drinks using Vermouth are Aperol Spritz, Campari & Soda, or a refreshing cocktail made with Terra Sancta Aperitivo Botanical.
In a nod to modern style and fashion, the use of classic cocktails such as a Gin & Tonic, Pimm’s, or a Negroni are never out of place. Lest we forget, a classic dry white wine such as a Sauvignon Blanc or Riesling will always be met with approval.
